Build Recipe 28 - Sig Sauer P365X EDC Recipe
29th Oct 2024
The P365X from Sig Sauer is one of the most flexible micro 9mm pistols on the market. In this recipe we show how it can go from bigger to smaller, comped to micro, and a selection of other parts that would make sense for an EDC every day carry setup.
The Gun
The Sig Sauer P365X has the slide and barrel of a P365, with the 12rd grip module of a P365X (2 rounds more capacity than the standard P365 10rd grip module). This allows you to have the short slide and barrel for easy concealability, but with enough room for your pinky finger to fit on the grip.
The reason we chose the P365X for this grip is because it can be made to be about the same size as its bigger brother, the P365 X MACRO, with a barrel swap to allow for a compensator and a bigger magazine. Or it can be converted back to stock quickly to make it small again when conditions call for more concealability.
It is this recipes ability to convert back and forth between bigger and smaller that made it the right choice for this recipe.
The Optic
Because this setup is intended for every day carry, we chose an enclosed optic that wont collect dust, hair, and other debris on the inside edge of the glass when wearing it every day. Sig's new Romeo X is a direct bolt on red dot for this gun without the need of any mounting plates.
The Magazine
This gun comes with 12 round magazines, but for this recipe, since the holster has a mag caddy to hold an extra mag, I opted for the additional capacity of the 17 round magazine from the P365 X MACRO. It comes with a base pad cover specifically designd to close the gap when being used on a p365X (as seen in the photos above)
The Barrel & Compensator
Radian now makes a replacement barrel that accepts a removable compensator without using traditional threads. They claim that it reduces muzzle rise by over 40% and adds a little bit of length to what is normally a very short barrel. Because this is an entire replacement barrel, you can remove it and put the factory barrel back in to make the gun small again without having to permanently modify anything on the gun or barrel.
The Light
The P365X has an accessory rail that is specific to Sig. Streamlight makes a TLR-7 Sub that is specificly designed to fit on the sig rail. This is the part number that will work with the Safariland INCOG concealed holster.
The Holster
Our preferred concealed carry inside the waist holster for the P365X is the Safariland INCOG-X. It comes with a removable mag caddy for carrying an extra magazine. In this recipe we choose to carry a 17rd mag in the caddy for more ammo capacity.
Use this part number if you will be running the Streamlight TLR-7 SUB weapon light
Use this part number if you prefer not to run a weapon light on your gun
The Belt
A belt is one of the most important pieces of kit for every day carry that is often overlooked. Even the best holster will provide an unsatisfying draw when clipped to a flimsy belt. You want the belt to be a stiff and sturdy foundation for your holster. We prefer the Kore belts because of their ratching buckle that lets you adjust the tension to whatever is comfortable whether you are standing or sitting down, (or just ate lunch).
